To be part of the Philmont Adventure, youth participants must be 14 years of age OR completed 8th grade and be at least 13 years of age prior to participation. All participants, youth and adult, must be physically fit and capable of withstanding the rigors of a Philmont Trek.

Cuwe is host lodge for next year’s Section Conclave. We will need lots of brothers to pull off a successful weekend. As of right now, we do need a few to step up to help with the planning of the event. We are holding the Conclave at Holaka on the first weekend in May 2012. These events don’t just happen on their own. We have to plan these great events. The C-2A has 6 fantastic Lodges that all help in one way or another. We need to come up with a theme, patch design, what we are doing where in camp, by the October meeting (that by the way, we are hosting at Holaka).

Please help out the Lodge! Call Richard Long at 248-417-2191 or Bev Chapman at 810-638-5239. We need about 5 Arrowmen on the committee for now to get the ball rolling.

Troop 111 has another scout that has started working on his Eagle project.  Luke H. is working on his project this fall and could use your help.  Check out the troop calendar and look for the auto email reminders.  Scouts need to keep a couple things in mind.  First, scouts earn service hour credit for their participation, hours that are required for rank advancement.  Second, as scouts give their time they know some day they are going to be asking for similar help.

Parents, keep in mind, one of the greatest joys you can experience is serving along side your son.  Your help and involvement is appreciated.

Just a reminder to everyone, we will be meeting at Blue Jay pavillion at Linden County Park at 9:00 AM on September 3 to brainstorm ideas for the upcoming scout year.  Scouts should come with ideas in the following areas: camping, community service, day events and any other idea they have for the troop.

Scouts not able to attend and participate in Saturday's session can submit their ideas to the troop on Sept 12.  Scouts will also have a chance to add-to, vote-on and prioritize the goals and activities for the troop.
